STRICT SCHEDULE
This course has a lot of content packed into it. Therefore, participants will not have time to do non-course-related activities such as homework. They also are heavily discouraged from leaving the course for any period of time. In case of extenuating circumstances, please contact the course director during participant orientation at the latest. We cannot guarantee the ability to accommodate such issues.
RANK & MERIT BADGE REQUIREMENTS
We only sign off on camping hours - no other requirements will be fulfilled by this course. No rank requirements, merit badge requirements, or service hours will be completed.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Per Scouting America policies, we do not prohibit cell phones or other electronic devices from the premises; however, we strongly discourage participants from bringing them. We do not permit cell phone usage during instruction or activity time, and all electronic devices containing cameras are strictly prohibited from bathroom or changing areas. Staff may ask for devices to be put away at any time. Participants violating our policies are subject to having their devices confiscated.
Pictures will be taken throughout the course by staff; participants do not need to do so.
If families need to contact participants, they can do so through camp administration.
Ultimately, participants do not need any kind of electronic devices and are best off without them.
COOKING SKILLS
Participants must be familiar with outdoor cooking implements, especially dutch ovens with coals, regular camp stoves, and lightweight trail stoves. All three will be used.
